Clean is just the beginning. Welcome to Wonderland. The Dirty Wonderland.
The Dirty Wonderland is a boutique, hand-built amp from Amplified Nation of Hudson, Massachusetts, designed around one simple idea: if you want a real, organic connection with your amp, you have to start with a great clean tone. It delivers bold, full-bodied blackface-style cleans with a voice that is open and uncompressed, so it breathes with every pick attack, right down to the lightest touch. Dig in and it moves from sparkling clean into touch-sensitive breakup and a gritty, killer crunch, all while keeping that open character.
That clarity also makes the Dirty Wonderland an incredible pedal platform. Put your favorite drive in front of the cleaner captures and you have a boutique dirt channel that still sounds and feels like the amp.
We captured 12 of our best tones of this amp in two flavors: Normal mode, with the full, round body of a classic blackface-style clean, and Bright mode, with extra top-end sparkle and chime. Each set climbs from the cleanest tone up to the most gain. The full amp versions were captured through the matching Amplified Nation 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion Rola G12-65 speakers, the speaker Amplified Nation say this amp works extremely well with, so they are ready to play with no IR needed.
Now, before you fire off that email, we know ours says “Wonderland” in the picture and not “Dirty Wonderland”. That is because this amp was one of the original Wonderland heads before the Dirty Wonderland existed with its extra gain capabilities. Once the Dirty Wonderland came to fruition, this amp was sent to Taylor at Amplified Nation to add the extra higher gain capabilities and turn this into a Dirty Wonderland Circuit.
From glassy cleans and country spank to edge-of-breakup blues and classic rock crunch, the Dirty Wonderland covers a lot of ground. If you have been chasing that boutique American clean with a little dirt under its fingernails, this is the one that will make you grin the second you plug in.
This Helix Stadium Proxy Clone pack is 12 of our best Proxy Clones of this amp.
